Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi 12T series on October 4 along with expected variants of Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro at the launch event which will be broadcast live at 14:00 GMT +8 (7:30 pm IST) via Xiaomi’s official global Twitter account. ‘Make Moments Mega’ is Xiaomi’s slogan for this launch event. And the event will be live streamed on all of Xiaomi’s social media handles starting with YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and their official website. There may also be a Redmi Pad launch alongside some other product launches at this launch event.
It hasn’t been confirmed both phones in the lineup will feature the same camera sensor, however only the Xiaomi 12T Pro is expected to feature a 200MP rear camera with an LED flash and a center-aligned hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 12T’s speculated design includes a 108-megapixel triple rear camera setup with an LED flash. And the same hole-punch cutout on the front display.
As of now, Moto Edge 30 Ultra is the leading phone to have a 200MP camera in the market. However, Xiaomi could be the second brand to release a handset from the Xiaomi 12T series. According to leaks and renders, the 12T Pro variant will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC (system-on-a-chip), and the 12T 5G variant is tipped to come with an Octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC. And the battery in both the smartphone variants is expected to have a 120W fast charging supported 5000mAh battery while running on Android 12-based MIUI 13 out-of-the-box and sporting a 6.67 inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. And the vanilla variant might offer a Full HD+ resolution display.
There are also reports that Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro may have a power button and volume rockers on the right side. And there will be a secondary speaker grill next to the Harman Kardon branding, as well as a noise-canceling microphone at the top. At the bottom, a USB Type-C port for charging, a speaker grill, and a SIM tray suggest the leaked renders.
Prices are expected for the Xiaomi 12T in Europe to start at €649 (approx. ₹51,000), and the Xiaomi 12T Pro to be priced at €849 (approx. ₹66,600).
