The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has announced that the 12S Ultra, 12S Pro, and 12S models will go on sale on July 4. The Xiaomi 12S series will be the first line of the company’s products to have Leica lenses. Additionally, the recently introduced Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC from Qualcomm is anticipated to power all three of the series’ phones. But according to some earlier rumors, the Xiaomi 12S Pro would also be offered in a different model with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor.
Xiaomi revealed the release date for the Xiaomi 12S series by releasing a teaser image. The event will be live-streamed through Xiaomi’s social media accounts on July 4 at 7 pm CST Asia (4:30 pm IST). One of the first smartphone families to use the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC that Qualcomm introduced last month is anticipated to be the Xiaomi 12S series. The newest Snapdragon chip will be used in new models from companies including Asus, Realme, and iQoo.
The Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro are anticipated to be available in the following configurations: 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB. Moreover, the Xiaomi 12S Pro Dimensity Edition reportedly comes in 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB variants. Additionally, it was reported that the Xiaomi 12S would ship with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and Android 12 out of the box. This SoC has a maximum clock speed of 3.19GHz.
